Working as a model in front of the camera built the foundation for C.M Soto’s successful path within this business. Starting at a young age of 19, numerous exciting modeling jobs gave the experience to prosper. Billabong Clothing and Body Glove Surf Gear were highlights of his modeling career. Most jobs consisted of fitness as well as swimwear shots, mainly anything that had to do with male physique. Several runways shows for underwear were among those. C.M Soto was also given the opportunity to work with a lot of photographers for calendars, books and postcards and was happy to be able to grow with the work of photographers (artists) like Steven Underhill, Martin Ryter for “Men’s Fitness” and J.T. Seaton, a very talented and up coming photographer. Establishing and building friendships within the business helped C.M Soto grow and appreciate.
As much as he loved being in front of the camera, the strong interest in switching teams and working behind the camera and desire to discover and observe multiple perspectives and opportunities made him try out something different and new. He started working as an assistant to a photographer but soon acknowledged his growing passion and realized he wanted to become “The Photographer”. There was a lot of creativity and countless ideas just bursting to get out as well as the restless “magic eye” putting images in his head, but ironically, he did not know one thing about how to use a camera. C.M Soto taught himself, little by little and step by step amazingly within a year!
Today we are looking at the amazing results on this very website. Truly the “Essence of youth and Innocence”!
